Next Step Workshops

Other Explorations using Core Shamanic Techniques

Studying Indigenous populations and listening to the lectures of Michael Harner and his guests have inspired us to create several workshops. With the guidance of our helping spirits, we've emphasized scholarship coupled with experience to provide novel ways to explore using the shamanic journey. These workshops are not Foundation for Shamanic Studies workshops and do not count as workshops taken when consideration is given for the two-week or three-year programs. However, they have been inspirational to those who have participated and we continue to provide opportunities to satisfy the adventurer.

Animal Powers of Central Asia

In this workshop, you will be treated to an introductory slide show presentation on Central Asia, its shamans, flora, and fauna. Participants will take several unique journeys and experiences merging to tap into the power and wisdom of the spirit animals of this area. In addition, we will utilize the journey to better understand our Power Animal(s) and the gifts it brings to us.

Exploring the Wisdom of Peoples of the North

Using the poems from Spirit, Spirit Shaman Songs, we will explore healing methods and ways to honor the spirits. The text for the poems will be provided upon registration and will be the basis for shamanic journeying. Our explorations will begin with an introduction to the lifeways of the Chukchi, Koryak, Eskimo, Kwakiutl, Tlingit, and Haida.

Reindeer Herder Shamanism

Continuing Exploration of the Shamanic Knowledge of Peoples of the North

This stand-alone training will look at poems/chants/stories from Northern peoples and include fundamental journeys based on the topics covered by these works. This time we will explore the shamanic wisdom of the Altai and Koryak peoples of Siberia and the Kwakiutl people of British Columbia. We will return to the Sami (Scandinavian reindeer herding native people) to access an important shamanic ancestor via the journey.

Let's Talk and Let's Celebrate Series

This periodic offering covers various topics including Ancestors, Depossession, Protection, and the Celtic holidays. The courses in the series typically are 2 hours long and include a lecture, time for questions, and a related journey. They are meant to be introductory, and in the case of Depossession will not be instructive. Check the schedule to see what's on the books!

Ancestral Currents

Often, one's first spiritual encounter and aid comes from the ancestors. Through various levels of discussion and experience, the ancestral relationship is explored. With the help of enlightened ancestors, one can bring healing to family lines.
